Quote (robot hire)

A quote for event robot hire should name the exact robot model, state whether the operator is included, give the effective presence time on site and set out the travel terms. A quote that stays vague on any of these four points usually hides an extra cost.

The words “humanoid robot” are not enough. They cover an older-generation wheeled robot just as well as a recent biped, for prices and effects that are worlds apart. The manufacturer's name and the model reference are what commit the supplier.

Effective presence time is the second point to get in writing. “A half day” can mean a four-hour slot with two hours of the robot actually operating, or the reverse. It is that duration, not the time window, that determines what visitors see.

Finally, the travel terms: included, flat-rate or charged at cost. This is the item that most often makes an invoice drift, especially when the equipment comes from abroad.
