Product placement

Product placement means integrating a brand or a product into editorial or social content, without it being an advertisement declared as such. It differs from an event service: what is sold is not a physical presence but an audience.

The economic logic is different from that of hire. An event is invoiced by presence time; a placement is valued on the audience of the content produced and on its lifespan online, which can be counted in months.

In France, commercial integration in social content must be clearly flagged to the public: disclosing the advertising nature of the content falls under transparency obligations, and the form this takes depends on the platform and on the terms of the partnership.
