User-generated content (UGC)
User-generated content refers to the photos and videos produced spontaneously by the public and posted on their own social networks. At events, it is the free extension of an operation: it reaches audiences that the attraction itself would never have reached.

Its value lies in credibility: a video shot by a visitor is received as a testimonial, whereas the same scene filmed by the brand is received as advertising. Social media algorithms struggle to tell the two apart, and often favour the former.
Not every attraction produces it. It takes a scene unusual enough to make getting your phone out seem worthwhile: that is a threshold, and most trade show entertainment does not reach it.
A practical point that is often overlooked: filming is not posting. Displaying an account name, a simple hashtag or a discreet sign noticeably increases the share of content that makes its way back to the brand.
